Designed by Arnold Palmer and opened in 1997, Legacy Golf Club is an Upscale, 18 Hole Championship Public Golf Course stretching out to just over 7000 yards. The course is comprised of towering pines, majestic native oaks, and wetlands…all preserved as a stunning backdrop where Florida’s coastal wildlife abounds. As an award-winning Arnold Palmer Signature Design, Legacy has earned its reputation as one of the premier course layouts in the Southeastern US.
If wide fairways, a Par 3 island green, 100 tricky bunkers, and undulating greens are your idea of golf-nirvana, Legacy Golf Club is within easy reach of most Tampa, Sarasota, and Bradenton, Florida tourist destinations. Located just 20 miles from the Gulf of Mexico, the prevailing winds make play challenging at times, but most golfers will quickly adapt and appreciate the test.
Arnold Palmer added his own style and subtle challenges to the course, which at first looks easy with its broad green fairways. Players paying attention to shot placement will be rewarded with level lies and good approach angles while the overconfident player will find sand and water hazards more frequently.
